Crazy Telugu Movie Review - Hard Fun

Suresh Kondeti, is always considered as one producer with a keen eye for good movies. Some of his previous dubbed projects like Shopping Mall, Journey and the very latest Pizza have done well in Andhra Pradesh. This time around, he has chosen to bring in the dubbed version of recently released Tamil film Settai, which itself is the remake of Bollywood film ‘Delhi Belly’. Starring Aarya, Hansika and Anjali,
‘Crazy’ has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.
Story:
Crazy is the story of JK(Aarya), Seenu(Premji) and Naaki(Sathanam) who work for a news paper. One fine day JK’s girlfriend, Hansika Motwani asks JK to deliver a parcel to one of her friends. As JK is busy, he asks Naaki to deliver the parcel. In an interesting turn of events, Naaki misplaces the parcel and accidentally delivers something else to the evil gangster Nasser.
Hell breaks out loose when Nasser finds out that the parcel has been misplaced, and in turns comes fuming after the three friends. Rest of the story is as to how these friends survive the evil torture of the goons and come out successfully.
Positive Points:
Humor is the main highlight of the film. Though many dialogues and scenes have been muted by the censors, one liners and funny situations are quite good in the film. Aarya looks stylish opposite Hansika and Anjali. Ali’s comedy track looks apt and interesting.
Anjali surprises us in the role of a posh girl and adds glamor quotient to the film. Santaanam’s comedy in the second half is quite good. Nasser is pretty good in the role of a don. His body language, get up and funny dialogues are hilarious in the film.
Second half has better pace and the film moves swiftly after the interval.
Negative Points:
First half of the movie is painfully slow. It takes for ever for the story to register. The script lacks pace and is not set up well for the native audience. Santanam’s comedy becomes routine during the first half and gets boring after a period of time.
Hansika does not have much to do in the film. Premji’s love track and the song associated with it are outright boring and become speed breakers for the film. ‘Crazy’ goes down badly because the characters and scenes have not been handled well.
Rather than setting the film in Mumbai, it could have been lot better had it been set locally.
The main flavor ‘Delhi Belly’ was its adult content which worked for the film big time. But here in the remake, the director presents the film with southern sensibilities which works against the film.
Certain jokes in the film are cheesy and over the top. Neetu Chandra’s item song during the start is horribly shot.
Technical Aspects:
Thaman’s music is decent and one song featuring Aarya and Hansika is quite good. Dialogues are over the top and do not have a very native feel. Dubbing of the film is not up to the mark and could have been a lot better. Camera work is just about OK and visuals are dull.
Screenplay of the movie is highly disappointing. When you think that movie is going to pick up, it is drastically hindered by a song or a over the top situation. Editing is mediocre. Director Kannan looses focus on the script and tries too hard to make the film work with southern sensibilities.
Verdict:
On the whole, Crazy is a film which is good in bits and pieces. Arya and Anjali’s chemistry and some funny situations are some plus points. But a drastically slow first half and poor execution make this film just a below average fare. Watch it if you have nothing else to do.

Vasool Raja Movie Review - Non Vasool Movie

Talented actor Navdeep, is surely one actor who has a lot of potential.Off late, he is balancing his act with mostly doing small films and appearing in key roles in big budget entertainers. His latest summer release, Vasool Raja has hit the screens today and lets see how it is.
Story:-
Vasool Raja(Navdeep) is a small time thief who makes his livelihood by robbing cars. One fine day he meets Jaanu(Ritu Bharmecha) and falls in love with her. He woos her and gives her the impression that he is a posh business man.
As time passes by, even Jaanu starts liking Vasool Raja and the couple get serious and plan to settle down in life. In order to live happily and reveal his true identity to Jaanu, Vasool Raja plans his last and final robbery. He joins hands with a deadly group of goons who import illegal arms in the country.
This is also time when ACP Yadav(Sri Hari) is posted to take care of the whole illegal arms situation. Rest of the story is as to how Vasool Raja manages to execute his last and final robbery, and whether Yadav stops Vasool Raja from fulfilling his final mission.
Plus Points:-
Navdeep has done a decent job in this film. His character has two shades and Navdeep delivers it with ease especially the negative one. As said earlier he has a lot of potential and given an interesting subject, Navdeep will surely live up to his expectations.
As always, Sri Hari gives a powerful and honest performance. Satyam Rahesh’s comedy is good throughout the film. Ritu Bharmecha looks cute and gives a decent performance. First 15-20 minutes of the film is very interesting.
Minus Points:-
Major drawback of the film is its weak story line. This formula has been tried and tested in too many films. Script work is weak and the director has done nothing special to make this film different.
Vasool Raja has lot of loop holes and logic is missing in many scenes. Scenes are abrupt and the continuity is totally missing. Right after first 20 minutes, the film starts to drag and takes for ever to finish.The movie boasts of many twists but even they are very ordinary and do not create any element of surprise.
Technical Aspects:-
Camera work is just about OK and so is the editing. If the film had been edited by atleat 15 minutes, the effect would have been lot better. Dialogues by Rama Swamy are good. Music for two songs ‘Paisye Paramatma’ and Tummini Bommini is pretty good.
Background score is decent, especially the scenes which elevate the villain. Story is old school and so is the screenplay. Production values of the film are good.
Verdict:-
On the whole, Vasool Raja is a film which is not up to the mark. First 15 minutes and a entertaining show by Navdeep are its only plus points. On the flip side, a very cliched story line and poor execution take down this film completely. Finally, Vasool Raja does not provide you your paisa vasool entertainment.

Jai Sriram Movie Review - Upset Movie

After a long time, Uday Kiran is attempting a comeback with the film ‘Jai Sriram’. The movie has been directed by Balaji N Sai and Tella Ramesh and NCH Rajesh are the producers. Reshma is the heroine and Daake is the music director. The movie has released across Andhra Pradesh today on the occasion of Ugadi, so let us see if the film is worth checking out.
Story :
Sriram Srinivas (Uday Kiran) is a tough and honest cop. He values his job and fights for justice and the protection of society. His moral values and ethics bring him into direct conflict with Chintamani and his son (Aditya Menon). Chintamani is a corrupt politician who runs an illegal organ trade racket by exploiting orphans and homeless people.
Our hero Sriram Srinivas decides to put an end to Chintamani’s game. He even goes against the Police Commissioner (Chalapathi Rao)’s orders. But he faces some unexpected difficulties in the form of dishonest colleagues.
Sriram’s life is destroyed. His family is killed. There is nothing left for him.
That is when our hero decides to take revenge. He starts hunting down Chintamani and his gang. He does not spare his corrupt colleagues as well. What happens in the end and how Sriram achieves his objectives is what ‘Jai Sriram’ is all about.
Plus Points :
Uday Kiran looks decent as a police officer. Reshma is ok as the heroine. Aditya Menon tries his best to do something but he looks quite uncomfortable in the film. Chalapathi Rao has done well as a corrupt Police Commissioner.
Minus Points :
The film suffers from atrocious writing and terrible direction. The plot itself is quite old and very routine. But the terrible screenplay makes things worse. There are many loose ends in the plot and a lot of questions are left unanswered.
The climax episode is extremely poor. Our hero spins a top, and challenges the goons to a fight. What is his aim? To bash all the goons into pulp before the top stops spinning. Hey dude, those kind of feats are possible only for Rajinikanth.. What were you thinking?
The romantic track between Reshma and a fellow called Siddhu is very superficial. A number of talented actors are wasted. Examples – Thagubothu Ramesh, Character actress Sana and Giri.
Uday Kiran has just one expression on his face throughout the film – an expression of anger. Is he angry with himself for ending up in such a stupid project? That is quite possible. He looks very uncomfortable during some sequences.
The placement of songs in the film is horrible. The film suffers from very slow pace and these poorly placed songs amplify the damage.
Entertainment quotient of the film is nearly zero.
Technical Aspects:
Cinematography is atrocious. Many short films have better visual quality than this movie. Editing is very bad. Dake’s music is pedestrian and the background score just does not gel with the mood of the scene.
Production values are quite bad. Balaji N Sai fails completely as a director. Sleaze and action sequences will not bring money at the Box Office if they are not executed well.
Verdict :
‘Jai Sriram’ is a badly written, poorly directed and terribly executed film. The entertainment quotient of the film is zero and you can safely stay away unless you want to experience sheer torture. Uday Kiran needs to look for better scripts and talented directors if he is serious about making a comeback.

1. Healing Power: The tulsi plant has many medicinal properties. The leaves are a nerve tonic and also sharpen memory. They promote the removal of the catarrhal matter and phlegm from the bronchial tube. The leaves strengthen the stomach and induce copious perspiration. The seed of the plant are mucilaginous.

2. Fever & Common Cold: The leaves of basil are specific for many fevers. During the rainy season, when malaria and dengue fever are widely prevalent, tender leaves, boiled with tea, act as preventive against theses diseases. In case of acute fevers, a decoction of the leaves boiled with powdered cardamom in half a liter of water and mixed with sugar and milk brings down the temperature. The juice of tulsi leaves can be used to bring down fever. Extract of tulsi leaves in fresh water should be given every 2 to 3 hours. In between one can keep giving sips of cold water. In children, it is every effective in bringing down the temperature.

3. Coughs: Tulsi is an important constituent of many Ayurvedic cough syrups and expectorants. It helps to mobilize mucus in bronchitis and asthma. Chewing tulsi leaves relieves cold and flu.

4. Sore Throat: Water boiled with basil leaves can be taken as drink in case of sore throat. This water can also be used as a gargle.

5. Respiratory Disorder: The herb is useful in the treatment of respiratory system disorder. A decoction of the leaves, with honey and ginger is an effective remedy for bronchitis, asthma, influenza, cough and cold. A decoction of the leaves, cloves and common salt also gives immediate relief in case of influenza. They should be boiled in half a liter of water till only half the water is left and add then taken.

6. Kidney Stone: Basil has strengthening effect on the kidney. In case of renal stone the juice of basil leaves and honey, if taken regularly for 6 months it will expel them via the urinary tract.

7. Heart Disorder: Basil has a beneficial effect in cardiac disease and the weakness resulting from them. It reduces the level of blood cholesterol.

8. Children's Ailments: Common pediatric problems like cough cold, fever, diarrhea and vomiting respond favorably to the juice of basil leaves. If pustules of chicken pox delay their appearance, basil leaves taken with saffron will hasten them.

9. Stress: Basil leaves are regarded as an 'adaptogen' or anti-stress agent. Recent studies have shown that the leaves afford significant protection against stress. Even healthy persons can chew 12 leaves of basil, twice a day, to prevent stress. It purifies blood and helps prevent several common elements.

10. Mouth Infections: The leaves are quit effective for the ulcer and infections in the mouth. A few leaves chewed will cure these conditions.

11. Insect Bites: The herb is a prophylactic or preventive and curative for insect stings or bites. A teaspoonful of the juice of the leaves is taken and is repeated after a few hours. Fresh juice must also be applied to the affected parts. A paste of fresh roots is also effective in case of bites of insects and leeches.

12. Skin Disorders: Applied locally, basil juice is beneficial in the treatment of ringworm and other skin diseases. It has also been tried successfully by some naturopaths in the treatment of leucoderma.

13. Teeth Disorder: The herb is useful in teeth disorders. Its leaves, dried in the sun and powdered, can be used for brushing teeth. It can also be mixed with mustered oil to make a paste and used as toothpaste. This is very good for maintaining dental health, counteracting bad breath and for massaging the gums. It is also useful in pyorrhea and other teeth disorders.

14. Headaches: Basil makes a good medicine for headache. A decoction of the leaves can be given for this disorder. Pounded leaves mixed with sandalwood paste can also be applied on the forehead for getting relief from heat, headache, and for providing coolness in general.

15. Eye Disorders: Basil juice is an effective remedy for sore eyes and night-blindness, which is generally caused by deficiency of vitamin A. Two drops of black basil juice are put into the eyes daily at bedtime.
